So now the cops decide to go ape-shit on peaceful protesters in BERKELEY of all places. For those of you who don’t know, Berkeley is perhaps the capital bastion of hippie-dom, slackness, peace and love, yadda yadda. They have also always been a center of attention for peaceful protests for social injustice. Despite their history for protesting the Vietnam War, the Gulf War, the Iraq War, and riots that erupted during the Vietnam protests, Berkeley has always been a place known for civil and peaceful protesting and demonstration.

Apparently, these days, that tradition has been put to pasture. At least according to the local police. Particularly when those very police officers look at non-violent protesters with nothing but disdain. I guess it’s only fitting that the over-dressed riot police feel the need to systematically and beat these dangerous protesters. Especially female ones.

Check the video below. It shows the police apparently determining that the sole course course of action is to violently jab them in the gut with their riot clubs. In fact, the very first person to be duly and painfully “jabbed” is a GIRL whose height is HALF that of the officer! Who, must have surely and justifiably felt imminently threatened by her. What other explanation is there?

It seems that the only way these agencies will stop violently harassing the peaceful protesters will need to happen with countless lawsuits. Any lawyer worth half his weight can go after the cops in these videos for unnecessary force, police brutality, excessive force, and probably more.

Once they’ve settled several dozen cases out of course, I suspect they will issue further directives for restraint and proper police behavior.
