After meeting Miet and Miriam, we now had 2 passengers aboard to make the ride even more interesting. So off we went up the river, not knowing what we were in for. Apparently Guatemalans love their guns, considering this place is practically the wild west law-wise. Just thought it was interesting, so I thought I'd share...\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.theandiamo.com\/images\/guatemala\/GuatemalaRioDulceCayucos.JPG\" alt=\"Cayucos in the Rio Dulce.\" title=\"These are just a couple of the many cayucos we saw as went up the river. They are essentially canoes made out of dug out logs, the Mayas have been doing it this way for centuries now, and they still use them today.\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.theandiamo.com\/images\/guatemala\/GuatemalaRioDulceCliffs.jpg\" alt=\"Towering cliffs\" title=\"Just one of the many towering cliffs that form the massive river gorges. Absolutely stunning!
