With them as crew, Andiamo got to Cayos Cochinos, Roatan, and we almost made it to Guanaja (long story, read the post about it!). In fact, Lotte took most of these pics! They came aboard knowing next to nothing about sailing, and ended up becoming very able sailors in a short time. Not to mention that Andiamo got slammed with the worst weather we&#8217;ve seen at sea, and the girls handled it with aplomb. Most surprising to me were their excellent attitudes when things did go hairy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I&#8217;m proud of them, and we had some great times onboard Andiamo, despite the many challenges. <a><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before Andiamo left for Cayos Cochinos and Roatan, we were invited to a fun little daylong party out at Water Cay by Monica and the folks at Tranquila. Water Cay is an uninhabited Cay that is mainly a &#8220;park&#8221; that you can boat up to and hang out at all day. This was a tradition of theirs that they do after &#8216;Semana Sante&#8217; is over to let off a little steam after a crazy time on the island. There was a lot of beer, food, rum and beer. Scott, of Scotty's Kitchen, the restaurant at Tranquila took care of preparing some of the best grilled food I've ever had. We ate good that day, that's for sure. \"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Some final shots of our Utila activities before we left:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.theandiamo.com\/images\/lotte-pauline\/boat-party-girls.jpg\" alt=\"Tony and the party girls\" title=\"So, one night Monica, Martha and I came up with the idea of having a poker game onboard Andiamo instead of the usual venue, Tranquila bar. So here's us onboard starting the festivities. Um, the poker game never actually took place, but we ended up having quite the fun night anyway drinkin up a storm, dancing, and singing along to Rocky Horror Picture show. It was hot, so we stayed in the water as much as possible. We ended up having to put out two anchors to make sure that we didn't drag. This was just one of those many instances. \"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>From French Harbour, we ventured over to Roatan&#8217;s West End, but we didn&#8217;t quite make it because we got hit by a nasty squall. The posting titled &#8220;A three hour tour&#8221; tells all about it, here are the pictures:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.theandiamo.com\/images\/lotte-pauline\/boat-roatan-squall-tony-pauline.jpg\" alt=\"Tony and Paulin\" title=\"This was right about when the squall started to hit us. I had Pauline at the wheel trying to keep course while I tried to get the mainsail furled in. It was not to be.\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.theandiamo.com\/images\/lotte-pauline\/boat-roatan-squall-pauline.jpg\" alt=\"Pauline at the wheel\" title=\"Here's Pauline trying to keep the boat on course while the boat gets slammed with 40+ knot winds. This pic shows that despite a very crazy moment, Pauline is nothing but smiles at the adventure. Soaking wet and pretty beat up. We had gotten a temporary main from Kelley and Jan from 'Refuge' so we wanted to see if we can get that one up. How many of these can we take???\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>After leaving Dixons Cove, we headed back to the West End for a couple more days, and then it was back to Utila.
