Some pics of our hurricane Ivan activities…

I managed to get a few shots in of the weather and Andiamo as we got her ready for the big blow.

A shot of the lagoon from the deck of Andiamo, facing north. The winds were just starting to kick up to about 40 or so knots.

This is facing south, the winds were blowing pretty hard, but this pic doesn´t do it justice.

Here´s one of a couple of shots I took of Andiamo after we ran her aground onto the mud and tied her up to the mangrove trees from her bow.

Another shot of Andiamo tied up, notice the several lines going off her stern, those are all the anchors we dropped behind her to hold her in place.

This is a shot from the pier, while Andiamo was experiencing 40-50 MPH winds. It was great to see this from our vantage point, because despite all the wind, she did not move a foot.

Another shot from the pier, the blue and yellow ferry you see in the foreground is one of the reasons we chose to not stay onboard Andiamo during the storm. Had it or any of the other 5 or so ferries that were tied up around Andiamo came loose, she would have gotten slammed pretty good.
