After leaving Cay Caulker, we sailed out offshore of Belize to get to Lighthouse Reef. This gave us the best 2 days of sailing so far since starting this trip. The first night out, we averaged 7-8 knots in 20-25 knot winds from the North with just the genoa. Then on the next day after leaving Lighthouse Reef for Placentia, we blasted past 10 knots many times in 20+ winds just off the nose from the Southeast.
Most of these pics are at Halfmoon Cay, where we anchored for the day when we got to Lighthouse Reef. There is an awesome bird sanctuary there. I’ve never seen so many huge and exotic birds in one place before. Very cool, and I’m not even a birdwatcher!
