It had to happen sometime…

In Andiamo’s five-year history, she’s been known to be an agitator, instigator, temptor, and even a destroyer of romantic relationships. She has cast her waves far and wide with great fury when it came to testing and ultimately crushing loving relationships. Which, until they met with Andiamo, were relatively blissful and harmonious. On the flipside, Andiamo has proven to be a hotbed for meaningless flings and loveless yet passionate trysts among people who were but strangers before coming aboard.

Slight rate increase…

Costs for fuel, food, and logistics are going up in San Blas, and Panama in general. We’re also finding that the “taxes” we’re paying the Kuna have shot up as well… as much as TRIPLE what we were paying before. This is resulting in the inevitable need to increase our rates to better handle these costs. We tried to make it as painless and palatable as possible, and we appreciate everyone’s understanding! πŸ™‚

The new rates are now posted on our Sailing Pages.

That is all, carry on… πŸ™‚

Bocas del Toro dates on the schedule!

Just a note to say that we have a couple of sailing dates available in Bocas del Toro for late April and early May. These sails will be done while we’re in the area for a couple of weeks. So if you want to do some sailing while we’re there, this is the time! πŸ™‚

Check out Andiamo’s Schedule for details!

June San Blas dates on the schedule!

Just a note to announce that I just posted two sailing dates on the Andiamo Schedule for San Blas. Go there now to view the dates and book asap, because we’re getting lots of requests for June.

I’m currently working on July’s schedule, and should have those dates up within the next week or so.

See you out there! πŸ˜‰

Back in San Blas… *whew*…

After a productive almost two weeks in Cartagena, Andiamo is back in its friendly confines of San Blas. Somehow, we managed to complete all the objectives we had planned while we were in Cartagena, and then some. We even managed to fill up Andiamo for the trip back with a cool group of people. But it wasn’t without its trials and tribulations though.

We had decided that we were going to make a stop in Baru on the way out of Cartagena. Since that’s such a short trip, I opted to not raise the dinghy and put it on deck. Towing it to Baru’ should be just fine. That would prove to be a fatal mistake. Well, ok not fatal, but bad nonetheless. (more…)

Fast Times in Cartagena…

After three straight (and very fun) months in Panama, Andiamo is back in Cartagena for a short spell. We had a private sail take us over here, and it was not without its challenges. Mostly weather-related. The plan after arriving here was to spend a few days knocking out some projects, getting some work done that we can only get done here, and head back. That was the plan.

But, as things often go here in Latin America, the plan didn’t go as planned. One of our projects involving a reconstruction of Andiamo’s companionway turned out to require a bit more time than we had initially scheduled. This meant having to shuffle some dates, and move back our departure date to San Blas. As a result, we had to cancel one sailing trip in San Blas. Which I don’t feel at all good about. There was just no way around it.

In any case, things are progressing well, and projects are being knocked out nice and steady. Barring anything unforeseen, we’ll be ready to go on our albeit newly-revised schedule. πŸ™‚

And our deepest apologies to our passengers who were affected by the unavoidable changes. Hope we can get you on Andiamo again in the future.

Still out there…

With trips back to back, I haven’t been able to update the blog as much as I’d like to. But here’s a note to say that there is much to come in the coming days and weeks. We’ve been doing trips in San Blas literally back to back. And now we have an upcoming one-way to Cartagena later this week. Once we’re in Cartagena, I will REALLY have time to get caught up, so stay tuned.

I have updated the schedule with more trips, and will be adding even more to the calendar soon as well!

That’s all for now! πŸ˜›
